20/01/2026 - 19/05/2026- Online Seminar on the History and Epistemology of Prehistory
The first 2026 session of the seminar on the history and epistemology of prehistory, organised by Hubert Forestier, Caroline Bousquet, and Arnaud Hurel, will take place from Tuesday 20 January 2026, online, at 17:00. We will have the pleasure of welcoming, for this introductory session, Mr Wolf Feuerhahn (CNRS Research Director, philosopher and historian of science, Centre Koyré, UMR 8560). His paper is entitled: “Progress: the history of a word rather than an idea”.

19/03/26 From the Field to the Cloud. Visualisation, Statistical Exploration, and Web Communication of Archaeological Spatial Data: the Open-source and Distributed “archeoViz ecosystem
On Thursday 19 March at 12:30 pm, a talk will be given by Sébastien Plutniak, researcher at the CNRS and member of the CITERES laboratory (Tours, France) and invited professor of IMQP. Trained as a prehistoric archaeologist and a sociologist, his research focuses on the use of formal and computer-based methods in the humanities and social sciences, as well as their socio-historical and epistemological dimensions.
The talk will take place at IPHES and will be held in a hybrid format.
